Anyone wishing to head for a university town or city can often find information on the language programme in the web pages of the relevant college/university. As a rule, the language programme is also targeted at non-students.

Learning languages abroad

Do you wish to beguile the mosquitoes in their native Swedish during your next holiday in Sweden to make them stop biting you? Or do you intend completing a course of practical training at Solidarnosc in Poland? If this is no problem, perhaps the foreign languages cause a little difficulty? Something can be done about this, though.

For all those wishing to learn a foreign language abroad, there is a premier address worth surfing to: the Language Course Finder web site.. This online database includes more than 6000 institutions offering language courses in the particular national language in 81 countries. You can choose from a total of 70 different languages, from Arabic to Zulu

Access to the Language Course Finder is free. The information on language schools and language courses can be called up in 22 languages: Arabic, Chinese, Danish, German, English, Finnish, French, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Spanish, Czech, Turkish, Ukrainian and Hungarian.

This enables people everywhere to use the language course database. With the help of various search functions, the willing learner can, for example,

  • filter data according to where he or she would like to take the course

  • use information on the course level and the target group as a point of orientation

  • find out which leisure activities and sports are available

  • or discover whether additional programmes, such as the possibility of participating in practical training courses in companies or in academic study programmes, are offered

Furthermore, the Language Course Finder additionally provides detailed information on language examinations.
